Demanding that the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre introduce a Bill in Parliament in the ensuing budget session for creation of Telangana State, the Telangana Advocates’ joint action committee has decided to organise “Chalo Raj Bhavan” here on February 21 at 1 pm.Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, the TAJAC convenor, Mr M Rajender Reddy, said that every person in the region was yearning for separate Telangana State and their “Rally to Raj Bhavan” was part of the plan for achieving the goal. Stating that the students were also taking out “Chalo Assembly” rally on the same day demanding Telangana Bill in Parliament, he appealed to the people of the region to extend their wholehearted cooperation and make the twin rallies successful.
The Telangana Praja Front founder-president, Mr Gaddar, said that the decades-long Telangana movement has spread among all the people of the region. Taking a dig at the Governor, Mr E S L Narasimhan, Mr Gaddar said that the former was not conducting himself as an impartial Constitutional authority, but was sympathetic towards those who were opposed to separate Telangana State.
Referring to the utterances of the Lok Satta Party chief, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, on democratic conventions, he questioned the former as to why he never responded to the genuine desire of over four-crore Telangana people for a separate State.
The Telangana Political JAC convenor, Prof. Kodandaram appealed to all sections of people to extend their co-operation and make the proposed rallies a grand success.Prof Kodandaram, Mr Gaddar and the Aronodaya Association president, Ms Vimalakka, released a poster of the “Chalo Raj Bhavan”.The co-convenor, Mr Prahlad, the City Civil Courts JAC president, Mr Vidyasagar Reddy, the Metropolitan Criminal Courts JAC president, Mr D Raji Reddy, and the Ranga Reddy district Advocates president, Mr Srinath, were also present.
