The Telangana Praja Front (TPF) president Gaddar on Sunday warned that the ongoing general strike would intensify into a ‘revolution’ if the Centre continued to deny the people of Telangana region, a separate State.

He was speaking at the TPF’s first anniversary after paying homage at the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial in Gun Park and also unfurling the TPF flag.

He said the struggle was peaking with the sentiment for a separate State having encompassed all sections of people, across 10 districts in a backward region. He said the TPF was one year old now but it had taken four years of background work to bring people together.

On Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao proceeding to the national capital on invitation, he wanted Mr. Rao to clarify and explain to the people before going to Delhi.

Mr. Gaddar reiterated that what the TPF wanted was a Telangana with Hyderabad as the capital and nothing short of it. He condemned the contention of Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan about a separate State and over naxalism.
